Love Throughout the Ages

This illustration was made for my University's newspaper, and was the accompanying image for an article discussing the cultural terms of "Yuri" and "Yaoi" and how their utilization in culture can manifest as being problematic.
I chose to depict two separate generations of lesbian and gay relationships, with the older generation being treated in a monochromatic and vintage style, and the modern generation being more vibrant and depicted in an anime-esc style. I added the effect of lights to the colors of the WLW and MLM flags, respectively.
