The World Unbound

This piece was created in part for a competition with my fellow peers for the opportunity to depict our interpretations of a tarot card. We were given a selection of six tarots, and amongst all of my peers, a few select students would have their pieces printed and used as coloring book pages.
I decided to choose the World tarot for its interpretations involving ultimate completion, fulfillment, and wholeness, with it marking the successful end of a major life cycle or journey.
I wanted to portray that physical imagery of the globe, but within the structuring of a grand tree, pulling inspiration from concepts like Yggdrasil from Norse mythology.
